Milan Fashion Week is always bound to bring the glamour, and this season’s beauty notes ranged from sweet and saturated to just the right amount of referential.
Though some details offered a continuation of NYFW’s runways (see: the graphic wings at Jil Sander), many of the strategies, like the myriad of luscious, berry-painted lips, felt farmers market fresh—and all ready-to-wear as soon as the craving strikes. And for those looking to welcome a reinvigorated of ‘20s after years of delay, Milan’s take on 1920s hair is ideal for wear well beyond costume season.
Here, five of our favorite beauty trends from Milan’s spring 2024 runways.
Chicly Greased
Whether splayed across the foreheads or combed neatly off the face, the hair at Milan Fashion Week came with quietly greased detailing. Stylized splays of strands emerged from beneath ultra-wide headbands at Prada, where runways like Giada, Tom Ford, and Adreadamo kept lengths pushed, partially or completely off the face. And at Etro, lengths were partially shellacked to the face, a thoughtful elevation of the wet-look trend.
