admin The countdown is officially on for Olivia Rodrigo’s sophomore album, Guts. The singer, whose highly anticipated project is out September 8, has been on a press tour of epic proportions. Yesterday, Rodrigo stopped by Sirius XM in an outfit appropriate for her single “vampire.”
On the bottom, Rodrigo’s look was very schoolgirl-chic, a niche she’s settled into quite comfortably. She wore a white tennis skirt and black penny loafers with calf-high white socks. But on top is where the singer leaned into the vampiric (though more Twilight than Dracula). She wore a white T-shirt printed with a Martin Schoeller photo of an early 2000s Angelina Jolie licking blood from the corner of her mouth.
Rodrigo finished off her look with oval Prada sunglasses and a cherry red lip (or should we say blood red?). But in a critical departure from vampire lore, she wore thick silver hoop earrings—which any vampire aficionado knows is a big no-no.
The “bad idea right?” singer has been known to reference her own work with her outfits. In London, she wore a red Magda Butrym halter minidress that called back to her days on High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. She also loves a cultural touchstone, from her Clueless reference at the White House to her Pat Benatar T-shirt. With Guts almost out, we’re looking forward to the rest of this sartorial era from Olivia Rodrigo.
