They began to collaborate and their designs began to sell. Once he realized they had something special on their hands, the publishing world took a backseat. With just two collections presented at Fashion Week Mexico, Zurce has grown like wildfire among the country’s fashion enthusiasts. For spring, Herranz took a 180-degree turn with a dark collection inspired by witches that pushed the label beyond its comfort zone of brightly colored knits.
“I was interested in the idea of magic beyond the aesthetics of witches,” he explained. Though the collection did feel more witchy than magical in its aesthetic, there were still the seeds of something new here. Flirty knits appeared on sweaters, sultry skirts, and elevated party dresses, once again proving this is where the talent of this family brand lies. Its expanded tailoring range, meanwhile, felt disconnected from the rest of the collection, but it surely shows promise for the future of the label.
