Would You Rock Mschf’s SpongeBob-esque Crocs?

Back in July during the Rick Owens couture show in Paris, Estonian rapper Tommy Cash sat front row in a theatrical, mime-inspired outfit. It was, for lack of a better word, bizarre, especially when you factored in his choice of footwear. He sported a pair of cartoonish yellow boots with holes in them, resembling a pair of ginormous Crocs. “Love the Croots,” one Instagram user commented.

Turns out the monstrous shoes are Crocs, though they’re a new collaboration style with Mschf—the experimental brand that has also released Birkinstocks (made out of Birkins), Satan sneakers with a drop of real blood in the soles, and boots resembling medical casts. Earlier this year Mschf also released its Big Red Boots—a chunky, cartoonish red boot—that made an impression during fashion month, and these new yellow Croc boots are a clear evolution of that drop. “Crocs are iconic for their holes and strap,” says Mschf’s Daniel Greenberg, “so we thought—How do we combine that with one of our most iconic silhouettes? You get this!”
