Who Needs a Billboard When You Have a Custom Cashmere Sweater?

Jennifer Lopez treated herself to some shopping earlier today, hitting Gucci, Ralph Lauren, and Jacquemus on Avenue Montaigne in Paris’s 8th Arrondissement. Keeping it comfortable and lowkey, J.Lo wore baggy blue jeans, a creme-colored cashmere Lingua Franca sweater, and sky-high platforms, which she accessorized with oversized Isabel Marant sunglasses, a beige scarf, chunky gold hoop earrings, mixed metal bracelets (including a “B” charm) and a Jacquemus Le Grand Chiquito crossbody bag.

While Lopez’s outfit may seem the perfect low-maintenance shopping fit, it contained an Easter egg. When she removed her scarf, J.Lo displayed a phrase embroidered in green cursive across her Lingua Franca sweater: “this is me…now.”

Jennifer Lopez is just one of many celebrities who patronize Lingua Franca. The Instagram-friendly brand is known for it’s cashmere sweaters with hand-stitched feminist credo, including “nevertheless, she voted,” and “the revolution will not be tweeted,” which both run for $380. Reese Witherspoon bought 20 custom Lingua Franca sweaters for Time’s Up crusaders. Julianne Moore, Kristen Bell, Meryl Streep, and Jane Fonda are other notable fans of the brand.

J.Lo’s sweater, unlike the politically-charged pieces that the brand has become famous for, is a custom embroidered piece, which advertises her forthcoming album “This Is Me…Now.”  Her first studio album in nine years, her new project serves as a sequel to 2004’s “This Is Me…Then,” which also happens to coincide with the last time she was romantically linked to Ben Affleck.

This sweater isn’t the first time she’s teased the new project. “Album delivery day,” she wrote on Instagram five weeks ago. So, while not much is known about the album, including the release date, this new hint can only mean good things. Maybe we’ll even see some Lingua Franca sweaters at future merch tables.
