There are some products we buy because they come in chic packaging, smell luxurious or make us feel fancy and indulgent to have in our showers. CeraVe’s SA Body Wash is definitely not one of them.
Despite its less-than-sexy exterior, this drugstore formula has become my latest shower must-have, mainly because it’s damn good. The clear, unscented gel was specifically formulated for “rough and bumpy skin,” and relies on salicylic acid to gently dissolve and exfoliate dead skin cells without the need for the gritty granules of a scrub. It foams up into a rich, sudsy lather and helps to moisturize and protect the skin barrier with ceramides, glycerin and hyaluronic acid.
Since incorporating it into my shower routine regularly, I’ve noticed overall softer, smoother skin and way fewer ingrown hairs. It’s also gentle enough to be used every day and, in my experience, those results get even more noticeable with continued use.
