In 2016, Glossier launched Stretch Concealer, and the little pot of complexion magic swiftly achieved viral status in beauty circles—with fans using it all over, not just under the eyes and on blemishes. Seven years on, Glossier has created a foundation version of the wonder product, with the exact same skin-like feeling as the popular concealer.
Launching with 32 shades that cover five undertone groups, it’s a foundation with more than just coverage on its agenda. The formula is made up of 89 per cent skincare ingredients—think plant-derived aqualane, rosehip and plankton—which results in a gel-cream blend that leaves the skin looking and feeling bouncy. The color pigments also have a skincare element—they’re coated in amino acid, which helps the colour to melt into skin for that distinctive Stretch Concealer finish.
The Stretch brush, also new to the Glossier line-up, is a stubby face contour brush with a clever built-in cover, making it ideal for travelling or simply slotting into your handbag. This brush also helps you to blend the product and build the foundation to achieve the finish you want.
It does apply seamlessly once you find your correct shade – if you’re already a Stretch Concealer fan then this should be easy. To get the right finish, I like to start by blending the product with my fingers, and then use the brush to get a seamless blend. I also like that you don’t need to use a lot of product to feel covered. As someone who needs a hydrating foundation that doesn’t sit in the fine lines of my face – and won’t leave me looking like a sweaty mess after a few hours of wear – it’s ticking all of the boxes.
Is Glossier back? Definitely.
