We’re inching closer to the highly-anticipated premiere of “The Color Purple”. The remake features a star-studded cast already receiving Oscars buzz — but their performances aren’t the only thing capturing the public’s attention.
The film is anchored by Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks and Fantasia Barrino (the latter two of whom both appeared in Broadway adaptations of “The Color Purple”), and the trio has been on a global tour promoting the project. It kicked off in London with a handful of appearances that offered glimpses of style to come: Henson, styled by Wayman and Micah, hit the carpet in a LaPointe dress from the Resort 2024 collection; Brooks, styled by Jennifer Austin, opted for a more subtle Proenza Schouler matching set with glitzy peep-toe platforms; Fantasia Barrino, styled by Daniel Hawkins, wore a Grecian-inspired Christian Siriano gown to the screening, complete with an elegant cape.
They’ve graced magazine covers and appeared at many industry events since then, ahead of the official premiere in Los Angeles. For the purple carpet, Henson, Brooks and Barrino (plus their respective glam teams) pulled out all the stops, in looks from Vlora Mustafa, Nicolas Jebran and Sergio Hudson, respectively.
