Supreme and Nike go way back. Since 2002, the NYC streetwear label and the Oregon-based sportswear company have been working together on some of the most hyped sneakers that the world has ever seen. Now, it looks like they’ll be continuing this tradition with the brand new Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Baroque Brown’—a sneaker that is relatively pared back in this age of over-designed kicks.
The sequel to the ‘Black’ and the ‘White’ versions that debuted back in 2020, the ‘Baroque Brown’ follows a similar design language but with a few significant changes. Unlike its monochromatic predecessors, the all-leather construction has now been switched out for suede, and it’s dipped in a chocolatey dark brown throughout.
There is, of course, the requisite Supreme box logo embossed just below the Swoosh. Thick rope laces tie everything together—delivering a work boot-inspired vibe—and underfoot, the Air Force 1’s signature star-spangled Air midsole returns in a complementary shade. All of this comes packed in a special edition co-branded shoebox.
Supreme is hardly afraid to completely freak it with a Nike collab—just look at the duo’s recent eye-popping Air Bakin for proof. That’s precisely what makes this understated AF1 feel all the fresher. After years of loud, flashy kicks—splashed in metallics and technical paneling—dominating the scene, the tastefully muted brown suede here seems to signal a welcome return to simplicity in the sneaker world.
Not much else is known about the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Baroque Brown’ at this moment in time, but the shoe is due to release as part of the NYC label’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection and will be available for $118. Well, that’s if you’re lucky enough to cop for retail, anyway.
