Shaun White, a three-time Olympic gold medalist snowboarding champion, continues to add to his namesake brand with the launch of women’s performance wear.
The new Whitespace women’s collection, designed for women riders of all disciplines, includes a base layer, puffer jacket and complete riding kit.
Designed with an all-female team to ensure the best fit and function, each item in the collection features advanced technical innovations blended with on-and-off mountain style.
“We are super excited to expand into women’s outerwear and base layers,” said White in a statement. “For too long, I’ve heard women complain about the lack of style and fit from their outerwear. This line is just the beginning of more exciting things to come.”
Developed in collaboration with outdoor retailer Backcountry, the Whitespace women’s collection launch builds on the current collection offering, which includes an array of snowboards, goggles and premium men’s and women’s apparel.
Melanie Cox, Backcountry CEO, said in a statement: ”Female participation levels in snowboarding have been growing steadily over the past several years, so the opportunity to expand Whitespace with a women’s line was a natural next step.”
The women’s collection debut comes as a new assortment of men’s Whitespace apparel is set to drop this month, including a riding house and tech Harrington jacket. Whitespace will also introduce an expanded range of hard goods, including revamped snowboards and goggles, as the brand continues to grow.
