Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have some special news.
The singer and Fenty Beauty founder gave birth to her second child earlier this month, according to multiple reports. The couple has kept a low profile since late June, as they prepared to welcome the newest addition to their family. They also share a one-year-old son, RZA Athelston Mayers.
Rihanna slyly announced her second pregnancy in February, during her Super Bowl Halftime Show—showing off her baby bump in a Loewe jumpsuit with a molded breast bustier and a red leather coat by Alaïa. She agreed to the performance soon after the arrival of RZA: “I’m going to say yes to the Super Bowl in the middle of postpartum?” she mused to British Vogue in February 2023. “What the heck am I thinking? But you’re geeked on a challenge like that because you know what your body just did. You feel this sense of ‘Nothing is impossible.’”
Earlier this month, her Savage x Fenty line dropped new maternity wear. While a lot of clothing targeted expectant mothers is often baggy and concealing, Rihanna wanted to do something that celebrated the female form: “The new maternity capsule is about bringing that confidence and comfort to moms at every stage of their journeys,” she has said. “I want to remind people that you can still channel sexiness and feel good while being a parent.” Fittingly, throughout her pregnancy, Rihanna has not shied away from making a fashion statement: she wore a bump-bearing jumpsuit with a matching bra to Pharrell Williams’s first men’s show for Louis Vuitton, and a Valentino Haute Couture silk faille dress with a cape covered in 30 giant camellia appliqués to the 2023 Met Gala.
