Reem Acra Spring 2024 Ready-to-Wear Collection

A recent trip to the South of France influenced the laissez-faire feeling in Reem Acra’s latest collection. Taking her models to her grand New Jersey estate, she shot her lookbook in a small corner of the home where she displays a collection of vintage bags she’s gathered in her years of travel. Acra, who describes the collection as “casual glamour,” had models prance around barefoot in feathers, sequins, and rosette-covered trains to embody the idea of entertainment at home. “A bit of how I live is reflected in this collection,” said Acra. “There’s a touch of the fifties, a touch of the thirties, a touch of today, but it’s all about the relaxed look.”

In keeping with this relaxed mentality, Acra ensured all the looks were able to be modified. Feathered details on gowns—which she describes as “the definition of real glamour”—and capes, are all removable so that the customer can dress up the look at their convenience. Sustainability also played an influential role in her collection. The pashminas used to accessorize her elegant gowns were made from leftover silk and tulle from elsewhere in the collection.
