The core cast of “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” are winning — not just because they’re in one of the most anticipated movies of the season, but also because they made up one of the best red carpets we’ve seen in a while.
After months without premieres or promotions due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, the union reached an interim deal with Lionsgate and granted the actors in “The Hunger Games” prequel permission to do press for the film. And with names like Rachel Zegler, Hunter Schafer and Viola Davis attached to the project, that meant a very stylish press tour was imminent.
The core four — Zegler, Schafer, Tom Blyth and Josh Andrés Rivera — gathered in Berlin wearing their best looks to kick off the festivities. Zegler, who stars in the film’s lead role, wore a head-turning gown from Alexander McQueen’s Fall 2023 collection, in a tribute to the fire-catching dress worn by Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss Everdeen in the second film of the franchise. Hunter Schafer embodied the fashionable ways of her character, stylist Tigris Snow, in a mosaic Schiaparelli Haute Couture dress.
