Orlando International Fashion Week (OIFW) has partnered with Build Ventures, a woman-owned general contracting, real estate development, and investment firm, to host the Fashion Designer Competition on November 3.
Taking place at Porsche South Orlando, the competition offers emerging designers from around the world a platform to showcase their work and network, with live voting taking place at the end.
Sponsored by Bulild Ventures, all registration fees for competitors will be covered, ensuring the competition is open to all new and emerging designers. The firm will also sponsor a signature cocktail hour with champagne to help set the tone for the competition.
The partnership sees OIFW and Build Ventures join forces in their support of strengthening Orlando’s fashion scene and positively contributing to its evolving identity. Together, the two seek to redefine the city’s identity beyond tourism and amusement, emphasizing luxury development, sophistication, and artistic excellence.
Kait Doulou, founder and president of Build Ventures, said in a statement: “In the vibrant heart of Orlando, we stand at the cusp of a thrilling transformation. Florida is the second most valuable real estate market in the country, and we envision matching that value from an art, fashion, and cultural perspective.”
OIFW, taking place from October 29 to November 5, is among the leading fashion events taking place in Florida. Showcasing collections from more than 30 international designers, the multi-day event merges fashion with luxury, art, music, education, and more.
