After practically reinventing maternity style, Rihanna has officially gotten into the maternity fashion business with her first Savage x Fenty collection “for moms and moms-to-be.” The capsule features three new bralette styles and an oversized graphic tee; sizes range from XXS to 4X with prices between $35 and $60. UK celebrity stylists are unionizing — who’s next?
Celebrity stylists in the UK are unionizing to push back against low wages, unfair working conditions and an overall lack of transparency in the industry. The Celebrity Stylist Union was founded by stylist Michael Miller, who has also created a framework for photographers, hair stylists, makeup artists and PR agents within the British fashion industry to unionize as well, Vogue Business writer Maliha Shoaib reports. “We’re hoping the fashion industry will begin to reform,” says Miller. {Vogue Business/paywalled}
Farfetch may exit beauty
It’s been nearly a year and a half since online retailer Farfetch launched Farfetch Beauty. With a lineup of over 100 different brands, things were looking promising. However, there have been reports that the online retailer may be shuttering this division due to fierce competition between online players, Don-Alvin Adegeest writes for Fashion United. Madewell names Adrienne Lazarus president
Adrienne Lazarus, a 30-year veteran of the retail industry, has been named president of Madewell. She will report to J.Crew Group CEO Libby Wadle, who had been overseeing both Madewell and J.Crew. Tasked with attracting a new generation of Madewell customers, Lazarus will also have the challenge of adapting shopping patterns and sustaining business from loyal customers, WWD‘s David Moin writes.
