Glamour names America Ferrera and Millie Bobby Brown as global women of 2023
With two special digital covers, Glamour announced actors America Ferrera and Millie Bobby Brown as its global Women of the Year. This is the 33rd anniversary of the Condé Nast-owned publication honoring the world’s most extraordinary and influential, and the first time it names two global honorees. Bottega Veneta establishes academy for artisanal craftsmanship
The Accademia Labor et Ingenium is Bottega Veneta’s latest move in promoting its unique savoir-faire. WWD‘s Luisa Zarganihe reports that the artisan academy, located between the fashion house’s atelier in Montebello Vicentino and the manufacturing site in Povolaro Dueville, will train and hire 50 students each year, allowing them to learn from five masters of artisanship. TikTok once helped promote beauty dupe culture — now, it’s contending with fakes
TikTok has been a major platform for beauty dupe culture, but with the arrival of the TikTok Shop, the app is now grappling with unauthorized beauty products being sold, Vogue Business‘s Kati Chitrakorn reports, noting that while the company has a strict policy against counterfeits, many are still finding a way to its marketplace. {Vogue Business/paywalled}
