We are currently seeking a skilled and ambitious Global Wholesale Manager to join our team. This full-time position is located at Merlette’s Brooklyn studio and reports to the Founder and CEO. The role offers ample room for growth within our expanding luxury fashion business.
As Global Wholesale Manager, your core responsibility will be directing key account and specialty store operations across a international markets. This encompasses the management of distribution partners and sales agents globally, with a particular emphasis on Asia. Your expertise will be invaluable in nurturing established partnerships and uncovering new opportunities across various brand sectors. A strong affiliation with US department stores will also be a part of your role, utilizing your experience in this domain.
The perfect candidate will be highly analytical, proactive in drawing insights from data, and a self-starter, taking initiative in identifying and pursuing opportunities. This combination of analytical acumen and self-driven motivation will be instrumental in driving our wholesale operations forward and keeping Merlette New York at the forefront of the luxury fashion sector.
As part of your key duties, you will be expected to:
· Utilize industry knowledge and connections within the luxury goods sphere
· Develop and enact global sales and distribution plans each season
· Oversee the budgeting and forecasting for sales, including managing the sales department budget for both New York and Paris markets
· Provide weekly wholesale partner sales reports
· Prepare sales materials such as line sheets and seasonal online sales product uploads
· Cultivate and maintain robust client relationships
· Partner closely with department store buyers and managers. They will drive sales through initiatives such as sales contests, trainings, customer events, and merchandise strategies.
· Generate end-of-season performance reports
· Collaborate with the Design team to offer merchandising suggestions based on seasonal sales outcomes
· Evaluate market potential for territories and negotiate brand positioning accordingly
· Identify brand awareness enhancement opportunities and collaborate with PR and Marketing to facilitate these initiatives
· Travel for seasonal selling campaigns and product knowledge training
· Support all Off Price sales events, accounts, and initiatives
· Compile seasonal competitive market analysis
· Collaborate with Logistics and Accounts to ensure timely and effective deliveries
· Assist in training and organizing sales agents and global distributors to accomplish targets and company objectives
· Deliver and advise on exceptional customer service
The ideal candidate should be self-driven, entrepreneurial, with a minimum of 5+ years of wholesale experience, preferably within the luxury and/or advanced contemporary market. They should possess strong analytical skills, flexibility, creativity, excellent communication skills, and a willingness for frequent travel. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, in addition to familiarity with NuOrder, JOOR, Apparel Magic, or similar programs, is required.
Compensation: $90k – $120k, DOE
