Mango x Boglioli Is Quiet Luxury for the People

We here at GQ may have spent the last few years evangelizing a looser, more languorous version of suiting, but if you prefer your tailoring to feel more classically buttoned up (but not boring), then break out the good prosecco: legendary Italian brand Boglioli is syncing up with Mango Men to bring its Ferrari style closer to Fiat prices with an eight-piece sportcoat collection.

In the headiest days of the #menswear era, when ankles were at their barest and wrists were at their most beaded, Boglioli blew up, for good reason. The label’s exquisitely Neapolitan-style sport coats—slim and trim and unlined, hugging the shoulders like a light sweater—became IYKYK luxury manifestations of Lake Como cool and Amalfi aspiration, not least because it helped to have Clooney cash to put Boglioli in your closet. The brand’s deftly crafted jackets generally live in the four figure range. At least, until now.

The eight sport coats in the Mango x Boglioli capsule lean into the Italian brand’s barolo-on-the-terraza vibes, with soft, soft shoulders and supple fabrics in low-key colors. Some weave a little cashmere into the mix; others talk a little bit more with their hands thanks to patterns like a pinstripe or houndstooth. And lord knows we love a double-breasted jacket. Blessings to Boglioli for offering us two.

Dio mio, the important part: each sport coat only cost $440. Not cheap, no. But for good wool, cut exactingly, with real panache, like the best sport coats? That price is molto bene.
