Kerry Washington looked radiant as ever Thursday night in a lilac gown by Prada at the The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment celebration in Los Angeles.
The dress is comprised of a weighty crepe marocaine material, with (similarly weighty) crepe marocaine floral appliqués that give it a sculptural feel, only enhanced by the various shades of purple that give it an added dimensionality. It’s a perfect look to exemplify Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons’ artful approach to fashioning elegance and conveying feminine power.
Washington’s hair was styled in a blunt bob that let her décolleté have its moment. Letting the bouquet of a dress have the spotlight, she and stylist duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn kept her shoes and handbag bold, but not overpowering: a silver brushed clutch and sandals. And that sparkly, snake bracelet? Another enviable Prada piece.
