That might not seem like much of a change, but when you’ve got a shoe as iconic (if divisive) as Crocs, why overdo it? And, moreover, the simple, stark aesthetic is perfectly in line with JJJJound’s MO.
Back in the early ‘00s, JJJJound founder Justin Saunders ran a moodboard on Tumblr where he posted pics of accessories and homewares that he liked. His following was small, but they were dedicated, and over time, he gained and more and more fans who fell in love with his minimalist style. In the years that followed, he worked with everyone from New Balance to Puma, stripping those brands’ most iconic models down to their unadorned cores. Practically all of those sneakers have been massive hits, and now Saunders is running that formula back with Crocs.
The JJJJound x Crocs Classic Clog collection will release on September 14 at JJJJound, Crocs, and select stockists across the globe for $75 each. A JJJJound x Adidas Samba collab is also rumored to be in the works, so stay tuned.
