While we may start to think about fall fashion, back to school shopping, and transitional dressing, Jennifer Lawrence is planted firmly in the dog days of summer. The No Hard Feelings actor took a summertime stroll through the Upper West Side with her husband Cooke Maroney, in an outfit perfect for a warm day at the tail end of the season.
Lawrence traded in her beloved tank tops for a white waistcoat. The button-up v-neck vest allowed J.Law to show off some clavicle, which she draped in a diamond tennis necklace. Opting for a pair of flowing black pants, the actor’s trousers are ideal for this time of year, when it feels like denim shorts have overstayed their welcome. It seems that Lawrence knows well that a low-waisted, lightweight pair of pants are both practical and chic, something that has come to define her pared-down personal style.
Also practical and chic is her oversized olive green leather tote bag. Lawrence appears to be carrying the Loewe Puzzle tote bag in khaki, a recent staple of hers that’s carried her from the gym to her walk around the city.
While the Oscar winner’s outfit could honestly work well throughout much of the year, it’s her shoes that divulge the season. Lawrence donned a pair of durable, strappy black sandals that—to the untrained eye—resemble a pair of Tevas. With her flip flops on the Cannes red carpet, we know that she loves a comfortable sandal, and we certainly don’t blame her. Although, while the Rat Czar may be hard at work in New York City, we’re a bit more apprehensive about the idea of open-toed shoes on the train. Thankfully, paparazzi caught Maroney retrieving his car at valet to ferry Lawrence home, so crisis averted. And they say chivalry is dead!
