I’ve had my mom’s medium-sized Longchamp Le Pliage in my closet for as long as I can remember. It’s served me for many, many years: I was already ahead of the curve when the “cool kids” in middle school jumped on the Longchamp bandwagon, and when I needed a sizable-yet-compact tote for my first day of college, I was prepared.
As much as I love the one I have (and the love that came with it), I have to admit I have my eye on something new. Upon entering the Longchamp store on Fifth Avenue recently, my eyes darted to a trendy take on the classic: a baby-blue mini with a simple green heart symbol across the front. I instantly fell in love.
Knowing everything I do about the durability and handiness of my own hand-me-down Le Pliage, investing in another, more fun spin on the bag sounds like a perfectly reasonable decision. Plus, it comes with a crossbody strap, and nothing gets me more excited than something you can wear in more ways than one. I think it’s time for my trusty bag to catch a well-deserved break.
