I Medically Need to See the A24 Television Adaptation of Paris Hilton’s Memoir

A24 is known for making some of the buzziest, most pop-culture-steeped films and television shows out there (The Bling Ring, anyone?), so it should come as no surprise that the entertainment company recently optioned Paris Hilton’s memoir as a series, with sibling stars Elle and Dakota Fanning’s production company set to coproduce. What a world!

Ever since I came into possession of a full box of Paris Hilton–brand kitchenware, I’ve been thinking about the aughts icon more than I’d like to admit; every time I make a grilled cheese on one of her signature baby pink pans, I wonder: Is Paris doing the same thing right now? While I haven’t actually read Hilton’s memoir (yet), I was excited to hear that Hilton herself is on board to produce with the Fannings; after all, who knows Paris’s story better than Paris herself?

Hilton’s ADHD diagnosis, her time within the troubled-teen industry, and the sex tape that changed her life (and, in its own way, the world) are all likely fodder for her as-yet-untitled biopic series, and worthy as these topics all are, I’m hoping for at least a little revisiting of The Simple Life—and maybe even, if I may be so bold, a cameo from Nicole Richie? They’re still friends, according to Instagram, and I, for one, would love a reprisal of the “Hi, we can’t come to work today, we are tired, I think we might quit the job, bye gorgeous” era. Has there ever been a more elegant way of tendering one’s resignation?
