The fashionable and comfortable medical apparel company FIGS has opened its debut physical retail store. Located in Century City Mall in Los Angeles, California, the new store will also serve as a community hub for the company.
The store opening on November 3 comes as the previously digital company reports over 500 million US dollars in net revenue in 2022, almost exclusively online. Bridging the gap between online and in-store experiences, the permanent retail location is set to meet customers’ demand for more tangible brand interactions, evidenced by the positive reception of FIGS retail pop-ups and live events.
“We could not be more excited to open our first Community Hub and to do it in Los Angeles, where FIGS was founded,” said Trina Spear, FIGS’ CEO and co-founder, in a statement. “Our Community Hub is a space for our Awesome Humans to not only experience our products in person but to gather, share knowledge, and provide support to one another.”
“FIGS was the first to create an eCommerce experience for our Awesome Humans, and we are thrilled to now give them a first-of-its-kind retail experience.”
Strategically choosing the Century City Mall to open its inaugural Community Hub, FIGS seeks to tap into one of its biggest markets. Ideally located, the mall boasts a yearly footfall of around 20 million, proximity to five major healthcare clinics, and is within a ten-mile radius of six key healthcare institutions.
The first several FIGS Community Hubs to open, the new store will also host events to celebrate healthcare professionals, offer programming on important issues that impact them, and networking events. FIGS aims to open its next store during the first half of 2024 in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square, which is within two miles of five healthcare institutions.
