You can’t have a list of iconic redheads without actor Emma Stone. Though she’s famously a natural blonde (a shade she returned to in August of this year), Stone threw us a curveball earlier this week when she returned to red sometime after hosting Saturday Night Live on December 2nd and before yesterday. The ruby makeover is completely fitting for the red carpet of her much-buzzed about Yorgos Lanthimos-directed film Poor Things.
Stone’s go-to stylist, Los Angeles-based Mara Roszak was on-hand to prep the star’s hair.
“We were really inspired by Bella, Emma’s character in the film,” Roszak says of the deconstructed knot she shaped at the back of Stone’s head. “Bella is very youthful, to say the least. We wanted the hair to be clean and elegant, but not too sophisticated or serious.”
Since Stone just returned to her signature shade, Roszak focused on color preservation (especially tricky for redheads) and hair health. That included having her own line Rōz on-hand to make sure “the texture was healthy and shiny, an important foundation for any style.”
