Being announced as Time‘s 2023 Person of the Year and supporting her friend’s movie premiere is all in a day’s work for Taylor Swift.

The superstar has been close with Emma Stone since 2008. So, naturally, she got an invitation to the New York debut of her latest film,  Wednesday night.”Poor Things,” on Wednesday night. It seems unlikely that they coordinated their looks ahead of time, though, as the two opted for very different vibes on the red carpet.

Swift went with an all-black vibe (interesting) in a bodycon scoop-neck maxi dress and a black faux fur coat from Charlotte Simone. Now, the decision to wear a Penny Lane-style coat (that’s aptly named “Penny”) had my Swiftie senses tingling after the singer dropped multiple Paul McCartney easter eggs in her Time interview — does anyone else smell a collaboration of some kind?

Swift accessorized with an astrology-themed Naeem Khan clutch, Giuseppe Zanotti slingback stilettos (the same pair she wore to the “Renaissance” film premiere) and layered gold jewelry. For her beauty, she stayed with her signature side-swept bangs, winged eyeliner and a red lip.

Stone, meanwhile, went pretty much in the polar opposite direction in a bejeweled, butter-yellow gown custom-made for her by Louis Vuitton (the perks of being a brand ambassador), crafted out of a sheer frayed fabric with cutouts throughout.

The award-winning actor paired the look with a velvet embellished flower choker and silver strappy “Blossom” sandals to match.
