Eckhaus Latta is known for its quirky, sometimes eccentric approach to fashion, and Spring 2024 is no exception. The collection is rendered in a fairly limited color palette — mostly chocolate browns, tans, lime green and blue — but there is plenty of variety when it comes to texture. Vintage-y leather jackets and mini dresses offer a subtle hint of shine, while baggy nylon trousers and coated denim dial up the luminosity. The collection also incorporates plenty of sheer fabrics and lace, as well as ample accessories, like sunglasses, berets and newsboy caps.
It’s clear that designers Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta had fun playing with both fabrications and silhouettes this season, and that’s particularly evident in a pair of cartoonishly puffy, oversized pants that are among the collection’s most memorable pieces. Created in collaboration with textile company Unspun, which uses fabric scraps, the garment was made using the company’s new three-dimensional weaving technology.
