As I get older and become more confident in my fashion choices, I’ve noticed a common thread through my favorite looks: They all contain a more grown-up version of something I loved wearing as a child. And whether it be through tulle tutus or rainbow jewelry, embracing that kitschiness and playfulness doesn’t have to mean forgoing an elevated aesthetic. Sometimes, the most exciting fashion is born out of that balance of fun and chic — and that’s exactly how I’d describe this skirt from Chopova Lowena’s collaboration with Disney for Nordstrom.
I’m a Chopova Lowena super fan already. With its voluminous shapes, flouncy silhouettes and edgy prints, it’s hard to not feel like the coolest princess in the world when wearing its pieces. Add a Daisy Duck symbol to that mix, and I’m sold even more. That’s what happened in this collaboration: The brand took its signature carabiner belted mini skirt, and gave it a fresh belt buckle — a bejeweled heart with the iconic Disney character posing at its side.

The addition is noticeable enough to make the piece special and cheerful, without leaning too much into novelty. It’s subtle enough to keep the skirt wearable and fashion-forward. All that’s to say: I’m starting a separate Chopova Lowena x Disney savings account now.
