Celebrities Kept It Simple (But Never Boring) at the 2023 'Variety' Power of Young Hollywood

The ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) and Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) strikes have largely put a stop to all promotional events in Hollywood. (You can support writers and actors fighting for fair pay and better practices, who are currently out of work, by donating to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation or the Entertainment Community Fund.) But on Thursday, some celebrities gathered to celebrate emerging talent across film, television, the internet and music (and not specific struck work) at Variety‘s annual Power of Young Hollywood event.

While there were some bright pops of color, all-black outfits seemed to be the dominant theme on the carpet. Sydney Sweeney donned a corseted leather bustier with a peplum silhouette and slashed biker skirt by Alexander McQueen, while Steve Lacy sported joggers with a turtleneck and long gloves — all Saint Laurent. Bretman Rock, meanwhile, went for something bolder in a flowy printed suit, while Megan Suri channeled “La Vacanza” in Versace by Dua Lipa.
