Bradley Cooper season continues unabated. Just days after the director and star of the new Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro was seen walking around in a pair of expensive and exclusive Jordans, he’s been shot stepping out in another rare set of sneakers—ones so rare you can’t even buy them yet. Coop was spotted earlier this week wearing a pair of limited-edition Adidas Sambas in deep blue and yellow, made for Gigi Hadid’s new designer fashion label Guest in Residence and released as a giveaway to celebrate the brand’s new Bond Street retail location.
While it’s possible that Cooper got lucky and won the store-opening raffle, it seems likely that he has an inside track: Rumors have been circulating for some time now about a romance between Hadid and the acclaimed actor, and although neither have spoken about the relationship publicly, they’ve been spotted several times now dining out together in New York and enjoying a weekend getaway. (Hadid herself stepped out in the Sambas earlier this month.) If that wasn’t suggestive enough, Cooper was also previously spotted in a luxurious cashmere workshirt from Guest in Residence, making it abundantly clear that whatever their romantic affiliation, Cooper is a fan of the brand.
We don’t blame him. The Samba has been the definitive It sneaker across a wide range of demographics for several years running and has shown few signs of slowing down; its enduring hype cycle has made it a perennial TikTok staple and surprisingly difficult retail find even as it weathered a summer of anxiety as the influencer shoe du jour. This special edition is a compelling iteration on the original, with its cornflake-suede coloring making it a great select for autumn fits, and the subtle detailing along the side—it has the address of the Guest in Residence store on Bond street embossed in gold where it normally reads “Samba”—lends it just the right touch of exclusivity. Bradley Cooper wearing these out in public may be a cute romantic gesture, but it’s also the cornerstone of a rock-solid fit.
