Beyoncé’s Renaissance Looks From the Runway to the Stage—“It Should Cost a Billion to Look This Good”

“It’s not the diamonds, it’s not the pearls.” It’s not the looks either, but when Beyoncé wears something, it’s impossible to look away. This is simply what being that girl means, but if you need any further proof that Mrs. Carter is, indeed, one of one, look no further than the breadth of fashion—and designers—she’s incorporated into her Renaissance World Tour.

A shortlist includes recreations of a vintage Mugler bee headpiece and custom bedazzled Miu Miu jorts; Tiffany & Co. “couture” and what we assume are outtakes from her Balmain “Renaissance Couture” capsule; a blood-red Ferragamo gown, full outfits in Valentino (or Barbie) pink, and much, much more. As different as these looks are, what Beyoncé and her team (which includes stylist Shiona Turini) are doing is neatly and seamlessly bending and fitting each brand partner into a Renaissance-shaped peg. There is no singular collaboration here, no lucky single label for the entire tour. Instead, there’s an ever growing list of designers, one that quite literally expands with every tour date. Beyoncé wears at least one designer from the country or city she’s visiting when she’s on stage. At the Meadowlands, she wore New York’s quintessential designer Marc Jacobs.

Telfar, Cartier, Chanel, and Tiffany are all name-checked on the album, but Beyoncé’s Renaissance-wear is the megawatt star equivalent of Lyst’s hottest brands index, a who’s who of the brands that matter this minute. The best part for us eagle-eyed runway fanatics? Many of these looks are reimaginations of pieces we’ve seen before at the shows. Scroll through to see how each look from Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour was transformed from runway to stage, and check back in after each tour date for updates.
