Congratulations are in order for Ashley Olsen.
According to multiple reports, The Row designer has given birth to her first child with husband Louis Eisner. The news comes as a surprise to most, as the extremely private couple never publicly announced her pregnancy.
The two wed last December in a “small affair,” according to People, that included her sisters Mary Kate and Elizabeth. “For them, it was a perfect celebration. They never wanted a huge wedding,” a source told the outlet.
The two were first linked in 2017, but never confirmed their relationship or engagement. (In a rare, previous interview with i-D magazine, Mary Kate described her and her sister as “discreet people.”)
Olsen’s last red carpet engagement was in November 2021, when she attended the CFDA Fashion Awards in a head-to-toe black look that included an oversized blazer. She and Mary Kate were nominated for the American Accessories Designer of the Year Award, which went that night to Telfar Clemens.
The sisters founded The Row in 2006, while they were students at New York University. Since then, it has grown into a highly-coveted brand that, to many, epitomizes the “stealth-wealth” movement: The Row eschews logos and instead focuses on luxuriously crafted basics.
“For some, it’s because it is the ne plus ultra of chic. For others, the unwavering powerful vision. For plenty, it’s the quiet yet palpable lust for what was presented on the runway. And for me? It was the serenity,” Vogue’s fashion features director Mark Holgate wrote in his review of The Row’s pre-fall 2023 collection.
Here’s hoping it will serve as further inspiration for The Row’s kids’ line.
