Last night, Argent brought a room full of incredible women together to celebrate, yes, fashion but also one another. Since launching in 2016, the contemporary womenswear brand has been on a mission to connect like-minded women across different industries and backgrounds to help drive gender equality. Following the remarkable start to the evening with a special appearance from Hillary Clinton, guests such as Rajni Jacques, Huma Abedin, Brittany Packnett Cunningham, Amy Griffin, Helena Christensen, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, and Sophie Grégoire Trudeau and Katie McGrath gathered for an intimate dinner at Versailles Suite in the Carlyle to share their commitment to both the brand and their message.
“The goal from here is for them to form new relationships,” Argent Founder and CEO Sali Christeson told Vogue. “Our underlying mission is to remove barriers for women, so it’s all in an effort to advance gender equity and really just keep moving things forward as a gender.”
Through both conversation and clothing, the power of the brand was on full display as dinner guests were decked out in their tailored Argent suits. Between bites of filet mignon, partygoers admired each other’s colorway and gawked over how they needed to get their hands on the firetruck red color modeled on Sali.
“When I met Sali, she really understood the customer to the core but now we are trying to think a little bit outside the box and different types of work and what that means for women,” explained Stephanie Suberville, Creative Director of Argent. “Maybe that means it’s more casual, or maybe you are not wearing a blazer. We are really trying to reinvent what it means to dress for work.”
After remarking on the beauty of the evening and marveling over how crazy it is to have so many powerful women together in one room, the brand’s ethos truly came to life as seatmates began to exchange phone numbers and send calendar invites for follow-up dinner dates.
