Anthony Vaccarello Does Cargo the Saint Laurent Way for Spring 2024

Anthony Vaccarello’s Spring 2024 collection at Saint Laurent is unmistakably elegant yet utilitarian, featuring cargo pockets galore, crafted with a Parisian flair.

This combination of sophistication and functionality is a result of Vaccarello’s inspiration for the season, which the show notes describe as “pioneering women who infiltrated domains once considered exclusively male, such as aviation and car racing.” Specifically, he looked to Adrienne Bolland (the first female aviator to fly solo across the Andes) and Amelia Earhart (the first one to fly solo across the Atlantic). Their influence is evident in the accessories — specifically, the hats and leather gloves.

“The stance is pragmatic, with couture-informed daytime looks and a looser silhouette than in past seasons,” the show notes read. “The result exudes what has long been a quintessential Saint Laurent premise: assertive sophistication, liberally taking elements from a men’s wardrobe and making them lastingly feminine.”
