Remember those pictures of A$AP Rocky walking into Carbone in New York City with Rihanna, full Bottega Veneta ‘fit and bag in tow? What about those carrying flowers in a suit, also identified as Bottega, down the street in Los Angeles?
Every time a new batch dropped, it felt like an unofficial campaign for the brand. Two months later, Bottega Veneta has made it a reality.
For Pre-Spring 2024, the Italian fashion house licensed photos taken over the past few weeks of the fashion killa in head-to-toe Bottega across New York and Los Angeles from popular image wires Getty and Backgrid. He might not be looking into the camera while sipping coffee or crossing the street, but it’s all part of the vibe and inconspicuous product placement.
It’s far from the first time a brand has co-opted the paparazzi look for official imagery, but the candid aesthetic has become increasingly popular in high-fashion — so much so, that the staged celebrity street style moment has become a big business opportunity.
