Chrome Hearts sues Shein over trademark violation
More lawsuit drama for Shein. Chrome Hearts filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California last week against the fast-fashion retailer, alleging trademark infringement and unfair competition responsible for causing monetary and reputational harm. The federally registered marks upon which Shein allegedly infringed include Chrome Hearts’ cemetery cross patch, CH Plus cross and a dagger design. “Defendants’ misappropriation of Chrome Hearts’ common law trademarks was intended to capitalize on Chrome Hearts’ goodwill for Defendant’s own pecuniary gain,” Chrome Hearts said in the complaint. {Sourcing Journal}
