admin Few items are as essential to a summer wardrobe as a do-it-all sandal — you know, a pair you can keep in the foyer to run out of the house in, as well as take to the beach for shore-to-dinner wear. It has to be functional, durable and versatile. Sometimes, these qualities can intersect with a trending aesthetic, and the result is wondrous. Such is the case with jellies this season.
In May, Klarna found that sales for jelly sandals rose by 269% over the prior six months. With sunny season in full effect, the style continues to climb upwards. Earlier this month, Telfar released a collaboration with jellies purveyor extraordinaire Melissa Shoes, which included concert-ready ‘Telly Jelly’ bags and a matching clear jelly slide. The latter sold out expeditiously, but a second drop (in pink!) just arrived Friday.
Now, that one will probably sell quick, too, but there are other squishy shoes on the market propelling them into macro-trend territory. Of course, Melissa has long led the jelly trend, but Camper’s viral Kaborah sandals are also adored by fashion girls for their comfort and “wow” factor.
