Michael Kors names Twice’s Dahyun as newest ambassador
Michael Kors has tapped K-Pop star Dahyun of the group Twice as its newest global brand ambassador. The 25-year-old singer has built a relationship with the brand over the years, attending its last two NYFW runways. “I’m excited to embrace the world of music and performance with Dahyun,” said Kors in statement. “She’s energetic, animated and has truly captured a global audience. Gap appoints new CEO from Mattel
Gap Inc. has named Richard Dickson, Mattel’s current chief operation officer, as its new CEO and president, effective August 22. As the clothing brand had been without a chief executive officer since last summer, the lengthy search for a company leader has to come to an end with Dickson’s appointment. “Gap Inc. is a portfolio of iconic brands, known for having defined American style with bold thinking and making quality fashion accessible to millions. London Fashion Week releases provisional schedule
The provisional schedule for London Fashion Week has been announced. Taking place from Sept. 15-19, LFW’s Spring 2024 lineup includes big names like Burberry, JW Anderson and Simone Rocha, debuts from Newgen designers and space for Ukrainian designers to showcase their work as part of Ukrainian Fashion Week. Stefano Tonchi joins TheWrap
Fashion publishing veteran Stefano Tonchi has joined media and entertainment site TheWrap as a consulting style editor and the executive editor of its forthcoming coffee table book: “TheWrapBook” will center around fashion in Hollywood and be released next spring. Tonchi has previously worked at top publications such as L’Uomo Vogue, The New York Times’ T magazine and W. {Business of Fashion/paywalled}
Pat McGrath Labs arrives at Ulta Beauty
Pat McGrath Labs will now be available at Ulta Beauty, which joins the brand’s roster of retailers including Sephora and Bluemercury. The launch is part of Ulta’s new luxury concept. While only select Ulta locations will carry the products by the end of this month, the full assortment will be available online in September, WWD‘s James Manso reports. {WWD/paywalled}
Girlfriend Collective launches new resale platform
With the activewear brand’s new “Girlfriend to Girlfriend” resale program, customers can now buy and sell all of their gently-worn Girlfriend pieces. The platform, which works through partner program Treet, was created to promote secondhand clothing use and greater sustainability in fashion.
