This past summer was certainly the season of Western-core and all-cowgirl-everything, but just because cowboy boots read as a summer staple doesn’t mean you have to clear them out of your closet just yet.

Texas-based Tecova doesn’t play about its boots, and the proof is in the quality: The second I slipped the brand’s Abby style on, I noticed a difference in comfort compared to my other Western-style boots and shoe brands in general. It’s evident of the craftsmanship that went into making them. (Plus, they made me feel like a true cowgirl.)

I specifically love the navy color of mine. They’re just dark enough that they read as a neutral, but when you get up close, you can appreciate the richness of the hue and how it gives the boots an elegant, holiday-ready touch.

My other favorite part about the Abby is its height: not too short that it hits your calf in an unflattering way, not too tall that it becomes half of your outfit. Between that, the durability and all-around charm, these boots will be staying at the front of my closet year-round.
